When I was a Child, I did Childish things.

I wish I was a Child again

Memories of Childhood Lost
***********************************

Racing through the landscape white
Puffing panting up the hill
Sunshine and snowflakes glistening bright
Hearts are pounding with the thrill.

Whistling missiles through the air,
Splattered snowballs all around.
Screams of laughter fill the air.
Trees bow their branches to the ground.

Snowmen standing, eyes of coal.
Wrapped in scarves, and hats on head.
Home made broom, twigs on pole.
Rounded bellies look well fed.

Then turn around escape the war
Headlong, speeding down the hill.
On sleds of cardboard, wood and more.
Feel the terror, feel the thrill.

Crashing, sliding faster still
Reaching the bottom fear is slain.
Turn around gaze back up the hill.
Then back to the top, let’s do it again.
