They claim to have the solution,
It's in family, health, being a la mode,
Or money, power, a new constitution,
And aye, seek ye first the Kingdom of God.
It's if you acheive your life's dreams,
Or, help out the less fortunate,
No, it's being able to quench every whim,
And being the epitome of appropriate.
Maybe it's going down in history,
Making a mark on the Earth,
Cracking the next scientific mystery,
Having your name spoken in every hearth.
Or rather it's in your job, how much you earn,
What you can buy, what you own,
Who are your friends, what you spend on fun,
Your house, car, clothes and phone.
But could it be a little simpler, suppose,
That through joy and strife,
The one and only purpose,
Of life is........life?
