Little Red Writing Hood

Little Red Writing Hood sat at her PC
She lived in the country, ‘bout an hour outside of D.C.
She’d taken to writing rather late in her life
Was tired of her boring days playing housewife.

She’d been a big fan of the mystery for years
She decided to try her own and cast away her fears.
The blockbuster written, an agent she got
The agent said the right things, but experienced she was not.

Time passed with no action, and Hood got depressed
The Big Bad Wolf was her agent, no one was impressed.
So Hood dumped her agent, and got herself busy
Sending out her MS to publishers, in a flurry and tizzy.

One day in the mail a large envelope came
Return address a publisher with a well known name.
Writing Hood was excited, a contract was inside,
Her joy it was boundless, Hood had a good cry.

Hood checked the agreement before she would sign
An attorney she knew said to him it looked fine….
The terms that were stated turned out to be good
‘Tis the beginning of fame for Little Red Writing Hood!
