A postcard arrived in the mail today
‘Twas from Aesop - he just wanted to say
He was staying with some friends he’d met on the road
A frog named Cynthia, and Tyrone the toad.

They were traveling together, just taking their time
Drifting around with no reason or rhyme.
They’d all had some tragedy befall them thusfar
Cynthia’s boyfriend had been squished by a car….

And Tyrone’s wife met a bullfrog named Fred
So she dumped Tyrone and Fred she did wed.
They thought Aesop though had been thru the worst
With his family succumbing to a cat’s vicious thirst.

Aesop said that he felt it was best to keep movin’
No roots to put down, just traveling and groovin’
He promised to keep me informed of his plans
He knows about AuthorsDen and that he has fans.

He sends you his best and he wants you to know
If he finds himself close - on your doorstep he might show!
So keep your eyes peeled for a poor little downtrodden mouse
‘Cause he just might be dropping by to say “Hi” at your house!
