Arriving in England Aesop was glad
His first trans-Atlantic trip wasn’t so bad
He made lots of friends among the ship’s crew
Played poker, ate well, and the time really flew.
So now he’s enroute to visit our Jackie
He promised me he’d be good and not drive her wacky.
He just wanted to hug her and offer support
To show that he’s her friend and quite a good sport.
He’s sneaking inside the hospital tonight
He’ll dress in disguise to cause the least fright.
He will hop up on her bed and tell her the story
Of his trip ‘cross the ocean, his arrival in glory.
When she nods off at last for some well deserved sleep.
To the foot of her bed little Aesop will creep.
He’ll take a nice nap, then before comes the dawn,
Aesop will give her a kiss, say goodbye, and move on.
His mission accomplished, he’ll go to see the sights,
But he won’t stay for long - just a couple of nights.
Then he’ll hop on a freighter and come back here to us
So if he stops by to see you - don’t make a big fuss!!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D
come by my den; I have so much to tell you! :)
