I know Jerry Bolton walks his dog Nipper every morning - just as I walk my cat Sam every morning....we often compare notes and that's what inspired this little poem!
Cruisin’ thru Canterbury on a swampy morn Knowin’ the widows are peekin’ thru their curtains torn. Catching a glimpse of Jerry, walking Nipper dog…. As he saunters on by their homes in the morning fog.
He likes to leave them wondering what he’s got up his sleeve Nosy neighbors don’t bother him, he wants them to believe - That they all have a chance to gaze upon his form divine, ‘Tho they should know by know that Dottie’s his only valentine!
This is great, Pam. I like the rhythm. And the imagery is great. Afterall, we know what Jerry looks like, don't we? Uh-hunk-uh-hunk-uv-burnin'love (for Dottie--heehee)
awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww what a cute write! well done!
