Antarctic summer,
Sun frozen in time.
Aquatic seasoning,
Instincts revived.
Penguins go diving
In murky red liquid.
Sharks lie in darkness,
The sea smells delicious.
Food for the hungry,
Lean from the winter.
Teeth cut like scissors,
Soft gut and flippers.
Meat fuels the engine,
Runs hotter and faster.
Feeding the frenzy,
Good day for disaster.
Nothing is easy
In hemisphere south,
But you have an advantage
If you have a big mouth!
This book represents a thirty-day period of my poetry journal. Each poem addresses
the dominant thoughts occupying my mind during the early morning hours of a given
day.
This is a book of free verse poetry that addresses the seven main tests in life and offers some sensible solutions to passing those tests with minimal discomfort.
