JOHN LENNON LYRIFICATION PROJECT

NICELY NICELY CLIVE

To Clive it was just another ordinary day
Everything quite navel
Nothing outstandley
But to Roger a red lettuce day

To Roger something special
A day amongst days
And dressing up that morning
Friend Clive did nothing say

Roger was getting married
In his best suit and all
Thought of the gay batchelor soups
He'd had with all his pals

"I hope I'm doing the right thing,
And I good enough for her?"
But he need not have worried
Though Clive said not a word

Roger looking in the mirror
Butterfiels in stomarce had
This was the day his Mother
Had told him all about

Rog knew it all by hertz
Till death duty parts
Grimming shaking hands
Ricebudda on his car

Being wheeled up the aisle
Anne in her wedding drag
Smiling out a blessing
Dreaming of smoking a fag

Clive he was oblivious
Clive said not a thing
Roger visualizing
Anne was polishing

Polishing her foot rest
Running out of time
Looked down on her grain haired Mother
Wearily wiping her sign

"Should I keep it syble?
Flowers round the spokes?"
"Does it really matter?
He won't be looking at your spokes anyway"

Anne smiled the smile of someone
Who's seen a few laughs
Anne smiled the smile of someone
Who's seen a few laughs

Luckily just then
Her father came home from sea
He cancelled the husband
And they all sat down to tea

Still Living on my Feet is the follow up to Tichaona Chinyelu’s first book, In the Whirlwind, which was rooted in a sense of hard-hitting revolutionary black love. However, in this sophomore effort, Tichaona brings the revolutionary essence from deep
