THE QUEEN OF DIAMONDS song lyrics
by Joel Sattler

She walked in like a question mark
And made a long shot in the dark
The Queen of Diamonds
Cut a heart

I couldn’t tell how the trick was done
But I believed every single one
The Queen of Diamonds
On a run

The Queen of Diamonds is a real good card
A mighty fine card indeed
But don’t expect her to throw the game
Or to be just what you need

Just like Greta Garbo said
before she left me dead in bed
diamonds aren't always pure and white
sometimes they are red

Made a pair but I had to wait
While she filled up the inside straight
The Queen of Diamonds
She was great!

Placed the bet so I had to pay
She sent a note on Saint Valentine’s Day:
“The Queen of Diamonds
Wants to play!”

The Queen of Diamonds is a real good card
A mighty fine card indeed
But don’t expect her to throw the game
Or to be just what you need

Indeed, Joel. I'm pretty sure I know this woman. Nicely done. Love and peace,

This lyric is loaded with a woman, luck, diamonds, cheating, betrayal, and all of that...

Could pull a heartstring or two.

Ron

Visions of A Skylark Dressed in Black by Aberjhani

“The woman or man who is a poet, or fiction writer, or playwright, or all of these, is engaged constantly in a jazz ballet of vocabularies, passions, genders, histories, perspectives, death, love, and life. The music of revelation announces itself to
