here I am again on my way to New York
in the dead of night
nobody talking
beats the hell out of walking
went to the dining car for a bite
I saw there a girl, what a surprise
I must admit, I could not believe my eyes
I sat back and stared at the beauty out there
and then she came over and sat in the opposite chair
she said if it's all the same
I'll tell you why I came
to be here
on the night train
I used to be cool but now I'm not
the fever is rising, I'm getting hot
if you know what I mean, don't make a scene
and show you the thing that I got
outside in the dark it started to rain
the water was drumming, I was going insane
she took my hand, said you understand
anything can happen on the night train
when we got to the station it was 6:24
she acted like she didn't know anymore
I said goodbye, she just said hi
and that was the way that she went out the door
she turned away
nothing to say
no need to explain
the game
on the night train....
