A SEASON IN HELL song lyrics
By Joel Sattler

Based on UNE SAISON EN ENFER
by Arthur Rimbaud

Once upon a time I remember it well,
my life was a rave and the wine was swell
the hearts all broke and the cups runneth over
I paid the price but I still owed her

One night Miss Bootie she lapdanced me
Left me crawling upon my knees
Her taste was bitter inside my mouth
I pushed her away and I cussed her out.

I went gunning out for the Law.
I ran screaming on down the hall
I tried to drive out all hope in me
Muggered joy like a wild betty

Just another season, just another season in hell
Just another season, just another season in hell
I should used to it, I know so well
I had it all before I fell
No more secrets left to tell
Just another season in hell

told the firing squad I'd bite their butts
called down the plague to snuff me in blood
bad luck it was my only friend
down in the mud I got up again

I played a good trick on insanity
spring it did laugh in all vanity
But now on the verging of my last croak
I see it all is a f__king joke

Give me an orgy, give me crime
Even if it takes my last dime
To unlock my lost gluttony
I am seeking the long lost key

Just another season, just another season in hell
Just another season, just another season in hell
I should used to it, I know so well
I had it all before I did fell
No more secrets left to tell
Just another season in hell

I have proof that life’s but a dream
The demons sneer at all that I bean
They say you’re nothing here but a dog
And put a poppy crown on my nog

They say now you can just die instead
Stuffed with evil and truly dead
But dear Satan I beg of you
Don’t burn me with those eyes of blue

Now I’m rotting in some black jail
Waiting for someone to go my bail
And if you want to hear this damn song
You better hurry it won’t be long

Just another season, just another season in hell
Just another season, just another season in hell
I should used to it, I know so well
I had it all before I did fell
No more secrets left to tell
Just another season in hell
