THE DREAM OF HAVANA TOWN song lyrics
by Joel Sattler

last night I had me the strangest dream of all...

last night had a dream of Havana town
dancing through the night as the red sun went down
you were there with me in the heart of sound
dancing through the night in Havana town

we were happy as could be and
you were everything to me and
music was our ecstasy
the future see
somehow and

I knew someday two or three that
there's an end to tyranny and
we'd have victory
the day Cuba's free

there will come a day in Havana town
Castro goes away when the wheel comes around
then we all will play when the way is found
we will celebrate in Havana town

everyone is full of joy and
every girl will kiss a boy and
communism be destroyed and
then we'll see
somehow and

we will have a second chance
become the island of romance and
we will dance and dance
the day Cuba's free

one hundred fires
they shall burn
in hearts of men
who shall return
to the island
we love so well
that the Castros have made
a living hell

in Cienfuegos
pearl of the south
we now are living
hand to mouth
but on the day
the Castros fall
you and I my friend
shall have it all

Cuba libre!

there will come a day in Havana town
Castro goes away when the wheel comes around
then we all will play when the way is found
we will celebrate in Havan-na!

Haiku of a Wayward Sailor” encompasses both haiku and poems. Many of the haiku are based on my experiences at sea.
