Sisyphus the King was eager
eager for Armageddon
he was sure as he could be
that he was bound for Heaven

but at the gates of Hell
the Devil said "I know you well"
but Siss said "You must be bluffing!
All that work's for nothing?"

and as he looked on Lucif fire
he said he hoped he was a liar
He said, "What creds do you require?
I heard you need a man for hire."

And Satan said "We have a boatman,
and all the rocks roll by themselves,
Cerberus stands guard at the open,
and volunteers ring iron bells,

"The bureaucrats decide who goes
to Purgatory or Limbo.
We got no part timers it's true
but tell me what you will not do?"

Then Sisyphus thought long and hard,
and realized he'd nothing left
He said "I only can stand guard,
over the dying and the dead."

And so he stands there on the path
of good intentions round the bend.
