tangled in deep solitude the shadows try to think
and you're further away than ever were before
think to set free the birds and burying the lamp
the fading images fade, they fade and are no more

belfry of the mist
how far away up there
drowning lamentations
who knows who or where ?

who are you, who are you?

grinding down our gloomy hopes
your face fell with the night
the miller taciturn
far from the city lights

your presence alien
so strange to me a thing
my path stretches before you
my life of struggling

I shout out at the sea
standing midst the stones
then running free and crazy
all in the surf alone

the fury sad and crying
the solitude of sea
unstoppable and violent
up to the sky and free

o woman what were you?
what ray what strike desire?
so distant like the new
the forest is on fire

blue crosses burning true
flaming up entire
cracking trees collapsing
fire fire fire !

and my soul dances too
seared by the curls of flame
who is calling who?
what echoes have a name?

this is a time of memory
a time of joy apart
my hour come at last
the horn sings in my heart

such passion knots me up
and shaken to the core
the waves assault my soul
