Sight of The Raven

We know what rain feels like: Tears from heaven.
Shed by Him, for us, His blessing – vernal.
Earth nourished, yet we feed like the raven,
eyes keen on waste, and discarded kernel.

Feet are for walking, arms hold, hands caress.
Body parts! Eyes to see, ears to hear, mouth
to speak, brain, think! Cipher logic, no less.
Yet we travel north seeking to find south.

We know our body parts. How to find them,
define, use them. But what is that within?
Seldom touched is the mind, the hidden gem,
unseen, untapped, below layers of skin.

Mind: precious, direct link to the Heavens,
yet we seek our food, as does the raven?

Awesome lines! Knowing the internal... the real us is so often avoided. Love it!

"Sight of The Raven" sees and teaches...A poetic grandiose from the quill that writes with ink scented with wise aroma from the garden of knowledge... A masterpiece for the historical pages of Poetry.

I salute You, Sublime Poet!

That is a damn good poem there. Darkly creative; they had always been a figure in norse mythology and Biblical folklore. A gothic piece you've written here.

Carmen, you're showing the results of meditation;-)You go
to the depths with this one, touching where the spirit dwells
and a precious gem it is, like this poem! Brilliant and beautiful!

Love this line, Carmen!

"Yet we travel north seeking to find south."

There is something viseral that quirks into my head with its utterance, how it beautifully sums up the first two quatrains. Great sonnet.

Seldom touched is the mind, the hidden gem,
unseen, untapped, below layers of skin.

How sadly true, far too often, no matter how intelligent we humans think we are.
I sometimes wonder if the raven, and other nonhuman creatures, can even do that better than we can.

Very good very true. If we lose the Ravens at the tower (their even all named) then disaster is supposed to strike.

To be able to deeply tap into ones mind, well worth lamenting on.

The alagories are tragically spot on..

Clever thoughts...
