The sorrow yielded to humor -
And often, to joy.

The sadness needed respect to give way.
The loss needed acceptance to taper the void.
The soul needed love to rejuvenate.

Sometimes I feel so young -
Like it never hurt.
Other times the pain cripples and bends me.
You support and love me through both.

Never questioning.
Never doubting.
Always with a smile.
Always with the knowledge that I will pull through.

How do you know when I do not?
Why do you have such faith?

He sent you when he knew that he had to leave.
But, you don’t recall.
He must have entrusted my secrets -
To your dreams.

You knew just where you had to be.
