Intelligence sits behind the wheel knowing which way to go but can't seem to ignore the idiot in the back seat - the idiot ego who demands his own kind of 'trip' which may lead into a war zone far removed from the stuff of dreams. Some possess the wisdom to shrink him down to a manageable size. Others jump to attention but rarely can satisfy his insatiable hunger.

It seems to remind me of the Id and ego theory. Is that an influence in you poem, Back Seat Driver?

Guilty as charged, Karen, for I am a backseat driver! My husband tells me I'll wear a hole in the floor if I don't stop pressing the invisible brakes. But these days, I have to be careful with my instructions, 'cause hubby is quick on the draw and can stop on a dime, without much thought of the driver in the rear.

I can totally relate to your "Back Seat Driver"
often times I wonder why my back seat driver is Miz Logic
& my driver in charge is Miss Emotion :)
