I sit at my desk, sad and lonely
Trying to compose
Words I have not, said yet
My thoughts, are so far away
Giggles and laughter
Echoes in my mind
Of happier moments, I once pledged
A deep love for you
Now nothing has been said
Still You Prey Upon My Mind
My once only love
It seems that I too,
Prey Upon Your Mind
Now you call me, a loving friend
One you are unable to discard
From your ever loving memories
Of wonderful moments. lost in time
Like so many tear drops
Lost in the rain.

My mind process, your image
like thin fibers
Attempting, to hold together
A broken heart, Deeply scared
Severing, all feelings and sorrows
Surrendering any hope
Of those, then tomorrow
Still You Prey Upon My Mind
In treasured chambers,
We have savored along our ways
Of passionate dreams
Dancing in air
Like on the silver screen
Walks along our beach
Where sand dunes of passion
Still lingers on our minds
Along with
Flavors and love scents
Of our passion spent.

Where memories exchanged
Altered, whole worlds eternally
Left to scared hearts and souls
Roaming through
Our most loving thoughts
We can't,seek old burning passions
as they once were
But pray
For better moments
Along our new found ways
Still You Prey Upon My Mind.

They say love's better the second time around. Well, that's what they say...
I like the details, it's soul deep. This is a fine, emotional write.

You write so beautifully what many people experience. They know it can't work, but the feelings hang around and haunt.

So bittersweet...you treasure the memories even while they still hurt you. Life is strange, William.

Haunting Melody by Flo Fitzpatrick

A search for the ghost of a chorus girl chorine haunting a costume designer’s Manhattan apartment leads to an encounter with an eccentric, mischievous witch with the ability to send folks back through time…in this case, the 1919 Ziegfeld Follies.
