Usually I recite a few words
In prayers every night
Before going to sleep
On this one night
I had a few drinks
Too many
I meant to pray
The mind was willing
But the flesh was weak
For what occurred that night
I wasn't ready
As soon as my head
Hit the pillow
I was fast asleep.
A strange noise woke me
In the middle of a dark night
Moon beams filtering through
Drawn blinds
Upon the wall I witnessed
Several shadows arguing
The ongoing mumbling
I was uable to decipher
Words were garbled
And stange
The shadows fell
Off the wall
My body became frozen
With uttered fear.
Unseen hands
Grabbed, tucked and assaulted
Me
Even tried strangling me
Something or other
Crashed through my front door
Shattering it to piece
An unholy stench, rushed in
With the force
Of a wild wayward wind
I felt a huge entity
Embrace me
Making me tremble
Like a wet dog
Drying himself.
Like a beast fron the abyss
He stank of musky
Hell and brimstone sulfur
His breath was unbearable
I thought I faint
He forced me to stare
Into the hell
Within his bloodshot eyes
Fangs dripping the saliva
Of a hungry beast,
For a moment
I thought myself dead.
I closed my eyes
Reciting my final prayer
He shook me awake
With the most effeminate voice
I've ever heard
The monster said to me
"Happy Halooween,
You silly goose"
As he went skipping and hopping
Gaily out of my dream
I woke to a beautiful day
After the "Eve Of Hallows"
Boo-alicious!! Really, this is great. Idea is inspired! See the bogey-beast all too well. . .eeeyiiiikes!! Gotta go. Need to lock up and pull the shades. Wish I could afford to take a drink. . .
