Pretty Pills

Innocent and benign,
Within, their amber glass bottle,
Soft sky blue, Pretty Pills,
I'll not be walking, a straight line.

A bottle of red wine,
Will accompany me,
Soon, no distress will I feel,
On today's quest.

Waiting for the new day,
I sit facing east,
Waiting for the sunrise,
As the gray fades in.

The tip of the sun,
Brakes through the horizon,
A few pills I'll savor,
Chased down, with a glass of fine wine.

Serene, I will feel, floating,
Hovering the Earth,
Untill the orange, of the sun's birth,
Is Gone, "thus a new day."

All the pill, will follow,
Washing them down,
With the fine wine,
Knowing of no tomorrow.

Flying without wings,
Feeling warm, without care,
Flying into the sun, like a royal falcon,
Into infinity's end, "Only if I dared."

I could feel myself flying
to the sun with peaceful
warmth and oblivion. Your
words have brought this
poem to life, my friend.

Happy Holidays to you and yours!

This time of year for some reason always brings out theses thoughts, and I'm so glad that's all it is. You stated it very well, capturing the mood.

It's a good thing you never have. Many have and have destroyed themselves, whether forever or just shortly with pride and dignity. This was an excellant look into the mind of somebody who does so though. It was written, as sounds, with ease and perfection to the touch of the keyboard. Nice write William!

Happy Christmas!

I'm wondering if your experience as a police officer nurtured this insight.

A poem to get lost in, and to emerge from a more compassionate human being.

Thank you,
Adam

Oh hoqw I used to fly, don't ask me though about the downside. There is much I would say. Bill Murray

I'm glad you didn't, many have. This is very heart wrenching and real, William.
