They Learned to play,
Through tears of despair,
As they bury their braves,
Who met their doom, without delay.
With deep sorrow,
They Carried, their buddies,
Marching to Muffled Drums,
And other fine, military tunes.
As tradition, follows
Generations, of bravery
Whether policing or fighting fires,
It was their desires.
All the City's flags,
Were at half staff,
Honoring our fallen heroes,
AS friends, remember few laughs.
Far too few,
For all tears shed,
And deep sorrow,
From wives and children,
Who won't, see them tomorrow.
As prayers are recited,
And caskets lowered,
At a distance, taps, is piped.
The Lone Piper remains,
To pay, his final respect,
With "Amazing Grace."
