Breaking A Heart

Restless, without slumber,
I, set my head, upon my pillow,
Dawn breaking,
Gray thoughts stirring,
Like a misty dream.

Gazing at the ceiling,
Shrouded, in silence so deep,
One can hear, their own heartbeat,
Pounding in my head, wanting sleep.

Wondering why?
The heart I broke,
Tears flowing, emotions growing,
How is she, where is she?
Where will I go?

If I return and apologize,
Will she forgive, as times gone by?
When tiffs were swept, under the rugs,
After a kiss and floweres bought.

Can I, close my eyes and find her there?
In my dreams,
Will, all be the same,
Am I, to serve a sentence,
For breaking her heart?

Will there be room again,
In her heart?
Before I fall apart,
Will she answer the phone,
Is she all alone?

Have I, been replaced,
Will some one,
Be in my shoes,
I left behind?

This may be fiction, but it has the ring of truth repeated a million times. Good work, William.

This was so very sad, it may be fiction, but you relate very well, to this heartache, many feel,

wonderfully done,

From the heart -- only someone with such a romantic heart would understand the pain of breaking another's heart.
