As we celebrated
Our Anniversary
Wining and dining
While sipping fine wine
I amused myself
With a couple at a table
Next to mine.

Did not mean, to listen in
They were celebrating
Their 20th Anniversary
While making a toast
He ranted incoherently
Babbling
While in her hands, she held
A tall slender bottle
of their finest selected wine.

Staring into deep space
With ecstasy written
All over her lovely face
She kept stroking, that bottle
He noticed, asking
Sweetheart, What are you doing?
To that bottle.

Waking her, from a precious
Heavenly day dream
Her words stammered out
Her sensuous lips
Oh!
I'm sorry my darling
I was just thinking
Of long days gone by
and an old boyfriend
Surprised he was, Really?
With a smile he dared ask
So what do you do
When you think about me?
Well she thought
With a deep sigh
How can I state my mind
And rude not be?

Slowly
she opened, her purse
Removed a golden pen
Gently and sarcastically
Staring into space
mimic softly, stroking the pen.
