Poem Artwork

Eyes blurred from senseless dreaming
The mind a constant waste
Nights are longer than forever
Needs are met in haste

Shadows grow infinitely duller
Dark suggestions are my Muse
Days are journeyed nothings
In misery I feel abused

Hopes and fears run parallel
A faint beat within the heart
Shine is rusted saline tears
They come and go... restart.

Busted open ribbon wrapped
Token kisses all now trapped
Memories displaced and gone
Chills run tremors to the bones

Knees tucked high beneath the chin
Long-lipped lines where smiles have been
Sparks of azure turned to grays
Gone the nights and misled days

Happenstance on a rope
Lonely footsteps on the coast
Stagnate heart reata... wrapped
Meets and greets the heart...entraps

Silly stupid woman-child
Get thee up and walk that mile
Leave to fester rotting dreams
Garaged up with trash and things

Timelines teach a lesson well
Foolish Damsel in your Hell
Pick your head up from your knees
Try a smile and don't dare bleed

Learn from this and beckon those
Who only stand upon tiptoes
To kiss the nose of one this blue
Must reach a doilied cloud or two.

What a true and beautiful heart you have to write so pure and honestly. Your words make me ponder many things. Great message here. Pierre.

Susan, a powerful and moving journey, from your daydreaming, to the time where you are ready to take your head out of the clouds, and begin anew. Excellent heartsong!

Just keep looking Up; from whence, comes our help.

Susan

Another glorious example of your formidable arsenal of emotionally charged writes, that reach and plummet the full spectrum of emotions and sentiments..

Timelines teach a lesson well - they truly do, Susan, for all of us.

As mystifying and brilliant as the poetic skies it ascends to, Susan. Truly inspired in craft and concepts. Flowing and yet so tightly woven in terms of dense imagery and metaphor. One of your very best, I reckon... and there are many! :)) Passion and emotion surely presses through every point of your pen, like moisture dripping through a cheesecloth. You feed us ALWAYS with the finest of poetic fare. In order to know what it is to have the cherry on the top, you have first to scrape the barrel, perhaps. You are one of the greatest expressors of the whole gamut and range of feelings that I have ever come across... sensuous is just not the word. Totally excellent. TY Kate xx

Thats it
transcend the hurt........reach for that height......and look down and see the pain as diminished. This is so well written, as always........you express everything so well.......but you know what......since you are so talented...........:)
why not try to write a silly one......get your mind off......the weighty stuff........

I bet you can........
not on demand........but sometime???

When you decide to give us mere mortals a taste of what you really have inside of you, you do it, in, of course grand style. This is one hell of a poem, a little longer and it might qualify as an ode. I like odes, and longer poetry, I damn sure like this.

Holy Schmoly Southern Belle! Are you OK?

The emotion in this gripped me in razored talons. Is this an emotion provoked from what's happening in the world?

This is so powerful and insightful! It sounds like someone who has reached the end of a season and is contemplating beginning anew. The image has at least three different kinds of cloud formations and subtly speaks of options that could enrich or confuse a decision making process in ones life.

So bloody poetic ...
