Prose attempt. (Bad one at that!)

Staring at the void paper,
begging for my words,
my mind is thriving off creativity;
but I'm numb.
The ink does not wet the page
but becomes my fluid
in which the words form
inside of me.
It is all there, inside of me,
pleading to come out,
pleading to be shown.
But I hide them.
If I see them in my heart
and I know how they feel
why is it so hard to captivate them
show case on this page?
What I need to tell you
could only be best expressed
through these very words.
But they hide.
Buried deep within, I fear
that I will die with these alone.
You'll have never known
what was for you.
Only you.
The song lulls me to sleep
and wakes me, reviving blood.
Every morning I sing these words;
but now I am speechless.
Need not to look in your eyes
to be interrogated by them,
but I also need not your love.
My heart isn't speechless.

The ink that swims inside of me
carries itself throughout my dreams,
my mind, my thoughts
my everything.
When this paper faces me
with this daunting task
I become afraid.
Of what?
Telling the truth in beauty
because beauty is intimidating.
My words are not borne,
you're too beautiful.
My words are not delivered,
they're too beautiful.
A vicious cycle, eating away,
nibbling at each precious emotion.
Inside of me is beauty,
swimming in endless seas of you.

How do I submit my beauty to you?
A blank page speaks
boldly.
A book speaks intimidation.
Sometimes words fail
even the most talented.
But the heart will never.
A heart speaks
a universal language.

Pen down.  Paper away.
My letter will be delivered
personally.
You will read me best
when I speak not with beauty
but with love.

Not bad actually. Perhaps bad in thought because it does not flow but in reality I think this subject is best said haltingly as it gives depth to what the poem is saying: I am having trouble writing down what I want to say even though in my heart I know and so here's my attempt. Love the ending as it really sums up the effort being made. Also like the progression from beauty to love captured in the last stanza/set. J.

Oh, Brittany, I am speechless! These two are my faves:
"Inside of me is beauty,
swimming in endless seas of you.

You will read me best
when I speak not with beauty
but with love."

You have spoken, with both beauty and love and, for the record, sometimes we NEED to write an entire "book," because such great love often inspires us beyond what mere poetry will describe. If I were he, I would not be intimated by a book written for me! Absolutely splendid job! -- Jeff

Beauty...Love. Love ... beauty. Hard to tell the difference isn't it.

Brittany,

This is an absolutely marvelous piece you've composed here. Nice to hear your heart speak this way.

Blessings,
Joseph
