The ground beneath me trembles
and yet I remain strong; steady.
People are melting to ashes,
for some time, I've been ready.
Lord, I've known for some time
that these things I've endured
would be consoled and erased.
From all the pain I'm cured.
Above the ground I can fly
with wings as solid as faith
because I made sure my wings
were stronger for my race.
The race started sometime ago
but it's never too late to start,
build your wings on faith so strong;
just build from the heart.
My life was bigger than itself
and was successful in His eyes
for everything I did, though small,
was nothing less of faithful compromise.
In every word ever exchanged
love was displayed through Him.
On the strongest wings I fly now
and this race I'll surely win.
When the ground beneath me fell
I knew that I was in His care
because He wants the best for me
He is always just right there.
Upon the strongest wings
I was there to catch the falls
of the children that forgot
that life is bigger than this all.
I am overwhelmed with emotion after reading this beautiful poem, Brittany.
