The march of time continues, another new year is upon us Last year at this time I was recuperating from a heart attack and a fractured ankle Meanwhile my esophagus developed an ulcer so eight pints of blood was needed by me But I made it, thanks I strongly believe was because of prayers of the fine people at the Authors Den The new year brings hope and tranquility to the less fortunate I am not trying to live longer but I am because of a deep personal responsibility My family and friends need me to live Albeit it is still very difficult to survive I write of love because I need to Never have I been so lonely I wish my ex-girlfriend were here and alive That was a night I can never forget She died so quickly on an emergency stretcher Now I am still needed here in this world But I cannot stop thinking of the next world Tony Mike Nerone 01-01-10

You surely must have much good yet to be done, much love yet to be won, much joy yet to be shared under our own special sun, because - and know this - you are one of God's chosen sons. So continue to lift your voice, and continue to rejoice - yes, rejoice in the midst of your infirmity, of your adversity. Easy said, I know, but I wish to encourage you, if I may, though I barely know you. You have been a dear presence to me, encouraging me in my poetry. I thank you for your friendship and I wish only joy for you now.
