The days turn to hours, the hours turn to minutes, and the minutes turn to seconds
All of this turns to complications for the old man of the streets
His once proud feelings were of good health and pleasures
Now he turns three hundred sixty degrees to complicity
A simple acknowledgment to him is glorified to his personality
He still longs for a lovers compassion
But his love resides behind heavens gate
Simplistic and righteous he awaits the coup de grace
For his time is for the benefit of the young
Through there laughter and there tears he survives
If only they knew of his love and joy they represent to him
For they are his passport to restful sleep
Another day ends after his retirement
Then his dreams bring back his youth again

Life is one day at a time. Sometimes one second at a time. Thought provoking poetry, my friend.

JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
the title by itself is enough to move me,
stir all those feelings inside
you express with clarity and understanding
and such great sensitivity.
