RAISING KIDS
Give them your love
and it comes back to you.
Give them hate
and that comes back too.
Teach them to lie
and they’ll learn to steal,
but truth and honesty
have much more appeal.
Controlling our anger
is a hard lesson to learn.
‘Cause it needs a proper release,
or it will simmer & burn.
Having good manners
and being polite,
beats being aggressive
and wanting to fight.
So, kill them with kindness,
teach them not to be wild
and to remember the manners
they learned as a child.
Teach them respect
and about getting along.
Make them aware
being disrespectful is wrong.
Send them to school,
then off to college.
One of your greatest gifts
is to bless them with knowledge.
Teach a good work ethic,
teamwork and ambition
and all of their dreams
might come to fruition.
Faith, hope & happiness
go hand in hand.
All things combined,
they might rule the land.
