For years I relished the life of a loner. Then I began to question myself. Finally, I came to the reaization that having No One is No Where.

NO ONE

I like this feeling of being free,
no one to satisfy but me.
No one to tell me when to sleep.
No one to say what hours I keep.

No one to tell me when I wake,
where to go or what to take.
No one to ask for permission to go.
No one to answer to yes or no.

No one to accuse me of playing games,
of seeing other women, or asking for names.
No one to plan with for a rainy day.
No one to get mad and turn away.

No one to tell me what I already know.
No one to say, “It’s time to go.”
No one to say, “You’re getting fat.”
No one to get mad and call me a brat.

No one to give me a bunch of flack.
No one to remind me when I’m getting slack.
No one from whom permission to seek.
No one to tell me my outlook is bleak.

No one gets mad and rants and raves.
No one gets nasty.  No one misbehaves.
No one rushing me out the door.
No one to tell me they need something more.

No one to tell me about their need.
No one’s mouth but mine to feed.
No one to say what games I see.
No one to answer to, no one but me.

No one’s happiness to be responsible for.
No one to tell me I could be so much more.
No one complains about how much I read.
No one with whom I must beg and plead.

No one to tell me about her rights.
No one to cause more sleepless nights.
No one to say, “I don’t like your song.”
No one to correct me when I’m wrong.

No one to accuse me of running around.
No one to encourage me, when I’m down.
No one to tell me how badly I’ve failed.
No one to remind me my ship already sailed.

No one to push me to newer heights.
No one with whom to see the sights.
No one with whom to climb the peak.
No one with whom my fortune to seek.

No one to tell me that I’m up the creek.
No one to help me patch the leak.
No one to help me when it’s time to bale.
No one with whom I must pass or fail.

No one to comfort when she is sad.
No one to scold me when I’ve been bad.
No one to wish I were more than I am.
No one to push me. No one to plan.

No one to hurt and bring to tears.
No one to call me Honey, or Dear.
No one to complain about my stinky feet.
No one to cook the food that I eat.

No one to talk to, nothing to say.
No one to ask me about my day.
No one to love. No one to fight.
No one to enjoy the things that I write.

No one to make me feel that I’m weak.
No one with whom new sights to seek.
No one to calm me when I blow.
No one to cuddle when we dance real slow.

No one with whom to visit the shore.
No one to nudge me when I snore.
No one to remind me of all that I lack.
No one to give me a pat on the back.

No one to guide me when I drink too much.
No one to soothe me with a gentle touch.
No one to whom I’ve promises to keep.
No one to curl up with when I sleep.

No one could make me feel this blue.
No one to say, “I still love you.”
No one to comfort me when I cry.
No one to mourn me when I die.

Yes, I like this feeling of being free.
No one that I know is as happy as me.
I don’t miss her, I think you can see.
Now where’s the remote to my TV?

Very clever! Sometimes we're not fooling anybody but ourselves when we say that we're happy being alone. I think that message comes through loud and clean with 'No One'. Well written.
