MY LIFE - Continued 
Chapter II - (THE MIDDLE YEARS)

The weeks turn into months
and eventually into years.
And, I find my early days
were the least of all my fears

At first I can't even crawl,
but soon I learn to walk.
I listen when they move their lips
and slowly learn to talk.

My brother's teach me things.
Things city boys don't know.
Like, where babies come from
and the place where babies grow.

Every day there's something new,
it's going by so fast.
Next thing you know it's school
and Mommy wondering if I passed.

Each day's a new adventure.
So many things I've learned.
They talk about the young man
into which, I've turned.

Finally, I'm sixteen,
so I buy myself a car.
But, I still don't have my license,
so I can't drive it very far.

Next, I have a girlfriend,
she becomes my wife.
there couldn't be a better person
with whom to spend my life.

Now I have a whole new family
with another Mom & Dad.
A brother and two more sisters
to go with the one's I already had.

I'm still going to college,
working toward my degree.
I car pool with my buddy, Bill,
or sometimes he rides with me.

Soon I start a new job
I'm working for the state.
I ride to work with my brother,
so I'm almost never late.

One day Sweetie says she's pregnant,
then we have a child.
Soon we have another
and he seems a lot more wild.

We'll need a bigger house
if we're to raise these boys in style.
That means a bigger mortgage,
boy this could take a while.

First we just add on,
then the house of which she'd dreamed,
comes upon the market,
so again, we scraped and schemed.

We purchase this old farm house
with lots of vacant land.
It has a big old barn,
so one time, we brought in a band.

The house needs overhauling,
it's my brothers to the rescue.
They know just what it needs,
though I don't have a clue.

Our boys just love this place.
It's a great place to gorw up.
There are so many things to do,
so we give them each a pup.

Life keeps passing by,
soon the boys are young adults.
We don't know how we did it,
but we both like the results.
