"Dick-idioms" are little philosophical gems I have penned over the years. The numbering sequence has no relationship to their importance, or pecking order; it's just my way to identify them. This one concerns my motto from many years ago.
A frog swimming in a pan of cold water atop a stove. Turn on the heat, he doesn't know until he's a dead froggy. Try to toss that same frog into a pan of already hot water.....
As always, you're right on track with excellent advice.
