THE JOURNEY is a poem paralleling the lives of thousands of poets, although specifically no one in particular.

THE JOURNEY

A poet, a prophet, or a pauper with a pen
someday we may discover, can’t be sure when

Words flow like magic, leading him home
destination a mystery, traveling alone

First from loneliness, ink starts to flow
describing the journey, to where we don’t know

Mind filled with worry, pockets near bare
hoping he’ll recognize when finally he’s there

Fun times, sad times, some filled with pain
each time his pen gets busy again

Mission accomplished, not yet, so it seems
one day maybe, but for now he still dreams.

Richard,
This is outstanding! Poets are always searching for that elusive something, some find it, some don't. Excellent poetry!

Many blessings,
~Linda

Hits home, Richard. Some days I can't think of anything and other days I hear them rattling around in my head, ready to spill out.

Sadness or gladness, hopefully at the end, the journey was worth every bump and curve.
