Withdrawal from
being a young buck,
just bought a red
racing stripe truck.
Wouldn't buy red,
when I had
a young head.
Rode mostly
dark colors,
hardly pinned a tie
to my collars.
Attitude was one of
mostly negativity,
until I learned the
power of positivity.
Presently in my
older years,
I have shed all
my young fears.
My mind is ready,
but my body isn't
quite as sturdy.
Now that I really know
how to have fun,
my body at times
gets a stun.
I have to stop
and slow down,
before I completely
hit the ground.
At times I wish for
my youth back,
especially during
activities in the sack.
If I didn't have
to get old,
I would forever put
my youth on hold.
I hate some of what
old age bring,
many times I can hear
my little boy sing.
"When you were in your
youth and stronger,
you didn't take time to
appreciate being younger,
You were too busy
with foolishness,
to really enjoy your
youthfulness."
As I reflect back
over the years,
the little youth
I have left,
will be appreciated every
second of the day,
in each and
every way.
I will not take one
second of it for granted,
for the rest of the time
I have on this
planet.
