Amateur or pro at mike,
poets are just people alike.
Expressing living fines,
in just a few lines.
Telling a whole story,
in short form glory.

Painting pictures in rhyme,
transcending through time.
Seperating word from grind,
placing on view to mind.
Poets don't just sat,
they swing pen at bat,
pen word to mat.

Inner struggles choking,
end up in word provoking.
Inside joys of delight,
come to life in sight.
After all the smoke has cleared,
poets may get cheered,
or end up in disgrace,
in search of true face.

Once true face is found,
no critic can bring,
the poet down.
Fame and fortune
may call,
at least only a stall,
a legend in own mind,
others never find.

i ain't no poet and I know it, but you made me fall off my stall with your little poem on my write, I preferred it to mine.

But it is fun to write, and catartic to let go, and take advice, and read so many good poets on here..

We may write, but we are people, too, and our worlds are told through our writings! We have issues or ideas that we feel we have to express and let others know!

Wonderful write, Grady; thanks for sharing! Enjoyed much!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D

Love ya!

Wonderful truth! I'm working on a piece that says this same thing. You said it perfectly. Great job!
