Actually I felt like a clown,
trying not to simply frown.
I knew I was having a bad day,
Instead of crying, thought I'd laugh it away.
But wasn't nothing really funny,
trying to find sweet honey.
Poor old mom has alzheimers,
a disease that affects old timers.
Mom has lost her mind,
but I still have mine.
What do you do with a healthy brain,
when there's nothing but rain.
Think I'll do mom a big favor,
laugh some for her while I can still savor.
Mom always had a pleasant smile,
even as the pain soaked her style.
So while I'm out in the rain,
I'll try to laugh away some of this pain.
Alzheimers slipped up on mom real quick,
took her mind like a magicians trick.
Life is beating my family like a fine tuned machine,
but I won't let it make me sad and mean.
In the face of disaster,
my joy I still master.
Until I lose my head completely,
nothing is going to defeat me.
I planned this a long time ago maturing,
so that my joy would be more self assuring.
In lifes cruel survival,
I planned strong revival.
It just didn't happen by chance,
neither does a good romance.
If we don't control,
life will certainly take bold.
There's always good and bad,
happy and sad.
I'm sad for my families dilemma,
but I refuse to trauma.
Nothing is going to keep me down,
until I myself finally hit the ground.
Like the energizer bunny,
I'm going to keep my days sunny.
Nothing might not be funny,
but I'll continue to laugh until my eyes are runny.
Keeping with the plan,
until I do my span.
Come hell or high water,
this I don't barter.
Choice in the trip,
Until I personally go blip.
All we can do!
Make a plan,
keep it grand.
Crying is ok,
but laughing makes my day.
Sobeit!

Forgetting who your true friends are must be the first signs of "alzheimers"...right!!
