Life certainly can get blue,
at times we have to brighten up the hue.
Down in the dumps,
rolling over the bumps,
feeling the slumps,
can get to us after awhile,
stretch out even the worst mile.

Trying to get over the hill,
time seems to stand still.
Will the bad ever end,
help us Lord God defend?

In lifes palette of color paints,
some of us pray to God and the saints.
We try to brighten up our day,
paint the dark blue away.
Still the blue stays,
it continues to darken our days.

I paint on a smile,
try too laugh for awhile.
I may still feel a little bad,
but everything isn't all sad.
Adding a little color too,
helps brighten up the blue.
