I'm no poet,
just a man,
a man like other men,
who dared to write.
Oh I rhyme these words,
create a little rhythm,
but I also fix my car.
I'm no mechanic!
Don't have a mechanic degree.
My degree is in design,
but I'm no designer either.
I work as a distribution manager,
I manage,
but neither am I a manager.
I took the job,
I need the job,
I do my best,
sometimes.
Don't work,
we don't eat.
Don't write,
I'd die of boredom.
Don't live,
we'd be dead.
My words would be dead,
I'm just a man,
not even doing the best I can.
I loaf a lot,
play too much,
don't work enough.
I'm just another man,
captured here,
barely surviving.
Facing up is hard,
but it's a start.
Where to now?
Habits are hard to break,
just as life is at times,
hard to take!
