This poem might spread some light on my venture into hate and racism. Hopefully I'm finished writing about them. I might not word anymore but these two constantly knock on my door. They are deep rooted.
Bottle up inside, some we can not confide. Surfaced by instigation, or icons like intimidation. Maybe history, or just knowing a story.
We all have feelings, some good some not so good. Some bad some not so bad. Some happy some not so happy.
Feelings just the same, some we do not want to claim, some we do not know how to claim. They may fear us. or they may dear us. Hate is a feeling, love is a feeling.
One nasty word, can fly feelings like a bird. Once they take flight, in comes the dark of night, needing the sun of day, to melt ice away.
One good word can do the same, give feelings their flame. Entice, unthaw ice. Spread joy of heart, give the sun its start.
Some kill because of feelings, some love because of feelings. Art is a form of expression, through it flies all type admission. We all need to vent, or suffer life more bent. Poets and writers, definitely word exciters.
Make a poet smile or cry, your feelings might just fry. He may piss you, or she may kiss hue. All type feelings may fly, the poet knows why!

Thanks for your poem, you write and express yourself well. Being a 73 0ld woman with a learning disability I always appreciate a good write.
Many times we must express ourselves in order to find our own pain,
Keep writing. Love Betty.
"One good word can do the same," I like that line. It brings attention to the power that the encouraging word has that can be just as powerful as the word that rips apart. The power comes in the choice. - How 'bout creating a poem on that one!? ---- Choice! :)
Sometimes letting feelings fly is the best thing you can do.
Best wishes
