This poem references life and the way it tosses us around. It has nothing to do with the sexual slang of tossed salad.
Out of all my troubles, I'm not lost, but I am tossed. I've been shaken in my shoes, nearly put out singing the blues. I strum my violin, over and over again.
The song I play, is the same each and everyday. My mind is dazed, and at times I'm amazed. I can hardly believe, how life tries to decieve.
But I'm thoroughly familar with the deception, each day I prepare for the reception. Tis a crazy world we're living, hardly no love in giving. My heart and soul gets dressing, to keep life from being so depressing.
So creative and positive in outlook ultimately. It's positive in the sense that we choose our own dressings when go to the salad bar and know why we put what toppings on our salads. We can choose the healthy dressings and look at life realistically and endure with flare and zip, or we can choose dressings overloaded with additives and sugars and pretend, be phony, and die in the darkness. Wonderful metaphor, man. I'll save this one, G. :-) ~~Nordette

I really get this! Perhaps the reason the salad needs dressing is because we sing the same song everyday. Instead of dressing to disguise it why not add spice to jazz it up a bit?
