too Far gone

I'm too far gone,
love hit me like a stone.
More or less like a boulder,
took a lot of weight off my shoulder.
There's no turning back,
love is the right track.
And if it's not,
this world would be all
cold and no hot.

True love can be a tease,
neither is it an ease.
One thing about it,
you won't totally freeze.
When we're frozen stiff,
we can get stuck with the if.
When we experience
spring, summer and fall,
at least life will enthral.

Hate is a dead end street,
love is an avenue sweet.
Both are filled with trap,
they both can make us zap.
I feel safer in the love zone,
in hate I felt completely gone.

G

Forgive me for this suggestion. I would change the last word to 'alone' if I were being totally critical. Take it or leave it. I thought the premise of the poem was great.

All hate has its roots in fear and fear renders us powerless. Love, on the other hand, takes us to a higher plane and also makes us feel good about our decisions. There are still pitfalls with love, but it is the understanding with which we face those traps that lead to personal growth.
Take care,
Sherry
