Some don't always recognize our efforts. A pat on the back could be the hand you're using. Don't take this poem that serious, even though it has some truth. Most of the time I just be rhyming, not trying to make much sense.
I should have remained a head, but I grew a body instead. I was better off being nobody, instead of trying to be somebody. My friends and family ignore, my writing and poetic score.
When I was Idlely thinking, sitting in the bar drinking, I got more attention. Being a poet and writer, I hardly get an honorable mention. In the bar I got toasted, now I only get roasted. It's as though people have no eyes or ears, especially friends family and dears. Even those close, ignore the most. My wife gets jealous of my laptop, but this writing I won't stop.
She starts, "come play me some cards. All you do is hug that computer, thought I was more cuter." I go on with my word, but not to be heard. I go on because I don't know what else to do, other than to my word be true .
I won't get out of this poetry alive, this is no jive. I'll write until I die, in my head I know why. Maybe I should have remained a head, who needs a body to be fed.
Keep on writing Grady! We poets know it, upsetting our mates, but isn't it nice they still love us the same! Smiles to you on this write!

A fantastic write Grady
I thought I was the only one ignored by my wife and kids
My wife too hates the time I donate to my poetry at the computer
My oldest son, said to me one day, "I'll read Your Poetry" when you become famous, when you have a best seller,
Well I guess he'll never read my thoughts, my daughter, all she does is laugh and makes fun at my poetry and my dedication to it.
Me I ignor them, I am a late bloomer at this "Writing poetry"
But I love it and I can't stop, My first poem was about the birth of my twin graddaughters, I haven't stopped writing since.
