I accept this gift from God above...

Sometimes I wonder what love means,
after watching all lifes terrible scenes,
and experiencing up close live, and in
living color, others using it for only sex
and chasing the dollar.
I get heated under the collar,
at times I could just scream and holler.

But I'm not confused,
even though love has left me in this life abused.
Starting with a father, who never would bother.
Shifting to a mother who loved with all her heart,
only to have love tear her apart.
Love too me is still a treasure,
one that I constantly measure.

I'd  measure it for the trash can,
if I was lesser of a man.
But I'd have to jump in too,
my whole life would be sad and blue.
I'd be walking around with a frown,
feeling sad and down.
This I know,
each day I get up and go.

Existing without the principle of love,
leaves us wide open for the devils shove.
Each day I stand by his fountain,
knowing if I drink,
I'll get knocked off this mountain.
However the drop wouldn't be far,
from my mountain I can hardly reach a star.

So I get the pictionary,
no longer do I have to look in the dictionary.
Too me the love word is most dear,
it's the reason I'm still here.
Barely existing,
in this life sometimes twisting.

Love is something to truly treasure. Wonderful that you have always seemed to have chosen to keep love so sacred to your heart vise become hard hearted. Let all who believe in love hold themselves up with the thoughts of and heart of love.

All the best to you,
From the Heart of an Artist...

A thought provoking write my friend, one that makes the reader ponder upon the meaning of true love...True love withstands the test of times, the battles of this life, and the tongues of others, true love is one that lasts a lifetime through the good and the bad! Enjoyed this insightful write!
Blessings,

Love is to many a blessing and to a few a curse, depending on what side of the blanket one is born or if one was filling a wish to have a child.
Selected ones were born to be punching balls.

"Love" has no one meaning...and therefore can never really be explained, for each of us holds a different dictionary and reads with a squint or wide-eyed spectacles, either diminishing its purpose or spreading it way too far...beyond its true interpretations... Love is so simple, its difficult to explain...
Enjoyed the write One~ I like how it made my thoughts wander...

You are so right on this one.....for love I wish each day....but hardly ever really live it...just because without knowing it I look right pass it...but I still believe it's out there!!

Does that make sense at all??

Love Tinka
