In this world it's easy to say phuck it,
from phonies and lies of a leaking bucket.
Even when we barter,
somethings don't hold water.
Our earth holds water in
its lakes, rivers, oceans and streams,
flowing water of idle dreams,
quite a few of its inhabitants day and nightly screams.
Pregnant coming water broke,
poor baby birthed to life almost choke.
Smacked on the azz for what it's worth,
crying baby living brought to birth.
As sure as the rain falls from the sky,
it's water dropping on a body born to die.
Rain water soaks into the ground deep,
even there it will not keep.
Through a process of evaporation,
poor child looks to his father for an explanation,
only to get a hypercritical summation.
On paper the school house grades,
in a deck of cards the ace trumps spades.
Dealt from the hands of a crooked dealer,
how was one to know the water went into
the mouth of a born killer.
Processed through a body came out pee,
same eyes watching you and me.
The only water surely held in a glass,
idle wishes sweet dreams pass.
