Eventually we all will end up sacrificing one way or another.
The grenade came in
amoung the soldiers men,
one soldier threw himself
on the grenade,
for this his life he paid.
He saved the lives
of his fellow soldiers.
Jesus did the same,
in God's holy name.
We all make sacrifices,
in small or big slices.
We sacrifice in loves name,
for our loved ones the same.
A mother and father,
sacrifices rather
than see their children suffer,
it's their love they offer.
One brother,
sacrifices for another.
Martin Luther King,
did the same thing.
A poet sacrifices his word,
so his verse will be heard.
The reader sacrifices their time,
to read the poets rhyme.
Time slips away,
as we all make our sacrifices
each and everyday.
Sacrifices are necessary things for us to do, and I loved this sacrificial poetry. It is good a read and should be read by many and they would feel differently if they absorbed its meaning.
Greater love hath no man, except to lay down his life for his friends ... that's what came to mind, reading these words - the ultimate sacrifice, very well done, One.
...with truth and honest words...you pen reminds us of choices made...sacrifices...the value of something given and taken...and you are right...we all make them.
