Want to get a good start on
handling disappointment
Just start writting verse on AD
Hardly any reviews you'll see
You'll either be loved or hated
each and everyday debated
At times you might feel sedated
That is if anyone visits your den
sometimes you'll feel like
breaking your pen
You'll wonder why the heck
you keep writing
Sooner or later you'll figure
writing verse is exciting
One things for sure
the disappointment will cure
or you'll give in to failure
Even if you haven't failed
get use to being nailed
Volunteer for the hammer
because either way
writing verse is a slammer
Slammed good
slammed bad
One poem you're happy
next poem you might be sad
Versatility counts big
If none of the above apply
Consider yourself lucky
you've earned your
rubber ducky
As an author, I can relate to this poem. We need the feedback. But I would add that the feedback might not come at the time of the first posting, or so I've found. I think, judging from RT discussions, readership is down. Nonetheless, I like the way your write puts it all together -- expressing the feelings most of us have at one time or another. R
Seems summer brings a decrease in comments, when life is busier or even time-off for illnesses (less time on puter). Just keep writing, Grady, and don't sweat the small stuff - your works are always enjoyed :o)
