At times we are mislead by self, others and life, facing up can be a hard fought dilemma, but it is best for the soul.
Mislead by a mother
who failed with my father
Not properly parented by
a dad that didn't bother
Mislead by a young
immature brain
in this crazy world at
times that seems insane
The many miles I've traveled
seems the truth I've
finally unraveled
Am I man enough to handle
the truth
Yes but at times it hurts
like a rotten tooth
So facing myself has ended
yet I'm still depended
Depended on a brain
that has suffered severe drain
A body that has suffered
tremendous pain
I'm no longer mislead
so goes this worn tire tread
You write with more contentment in this poem, Grady, and I'm happy for that. We can't change the past, but certainly can change today and tomorrow with more love and forgiveness; don't carry our "garbage" with us throughout our lives...easier to find happiness :o)

Sometimes what happened in our childhood has a lasting effect on our lives and how we think of ourselves. If the negative force continues into our adulthood, we would be negative persons. I still have that trait with me. Once in a while my negative force would come to surface.
Because my early years was spent living with my grandparents until I was about 7 years old, so I thought my parents did not love me while I was growing up; but I'm glad I had the chance to sort it out after my parents moved to Canada. My parents and I had the loveliest and the closest time before they passed away, and I know I should be happy now.
But like you, my negative force does surface once in a while and then I would think back to my childhood, and then I would question whether or not my parent had loved me or not.
In reality though, I think we should think of loving others. It's so much more fun to give love than to receive love. I know sometimes you might think that..."okay, why am I giving love when I don't receive it back?"...and yes it does cross my mind too; but craving for love is hurting when you don't get it, but giving love you don't necessary need the love back. I know it doesn't seem all that logic to you, neither it does me, but if I can give love to make another person happy I would be happy too. - I think that is my logic.
The captivating music of birds and the enchanting beauty of roses have, each in their own right, inspired people around the world for as long as anyone can remember. How the two combine with the challenges faced by a struggling writer in Georgia to c
