Truth is the Trap

For all you (about you) folks this poem came from my own facing up dilemma. My wife and I both have a dysfunctional family but we are fine, the sun still shine, I still love hers and mine. After facing up to the hate and stupidity we got quite a few questions answered, didn't make facing it any easier. I realized that we're trapped in this truth and have to deal with it positively.

Truth is the trap
so forget taking a nap
you might want to zap
after facing your own crap
Truth locks us in
after facing it we
either lose or win

Winners face up
and move on
losers stay in the trap
even after they zap
The vacuum cleaner
keeps sucking
It won't turn off
we either land
hard or soft

In a bed of roses
with dumb stupid proposes
or thorn sticking supposes
Hopefully we make it
don't continue to fake it
Welcome to the
rotten tooth
The tooth can be pulled
a bad marriage
can be annulled
but the truth will linger
and always point the finger
either with a smile
or in anger

And they say "the truth will set you free" - a concept which only works for social psychopaths. Been there, done that, the finger never smiled.
