Life is just fine
when were're enjoying
the warm sunshine

when we have a
great date
even better if we marry
a loving mate
Super if we happen to live
in a lovely state

Life is a pure treasure
as long as there is pleasure
In the door comes
all the abnormalities
placing us darn
near unavoidable fatalities
At times we barely make it
acting so good others fail
to see we're faking it

My 84 year old mother
laughed and smiled all day
didn't have nothing but good
things to say
I left her with a warm so long
happy because she
seemed so strong

As soon as I arrived home
from my trip
the phone call popped
me like a whip
If I was a drinking man I'd
have taken more than a sip
Mom had a heart attack
and was almost dead on
her back
