We sit around and wait
no one really knows their fate
Some keep pushing it
until it's too late
Too late comes sooner
than expected
and it can't be corrected
must less early detected

Many men take their chances
with near death romances
Daredevils in their own right
keep hope in their sight
Mostly everyone plays it safe
depending and praying on their
holy or unholy belief
Very few view death as a
final relief

Some who become terminal due
to sickness and injury
would do anything even commit perjury
to get a relief from their
suffering and pain
knowing all the time that they have
final peace to gain
